MUSIC DIRECTION (and other things)
While their passion may be writing, composing, and directing new and experimental musical theater, Dante is also thrilled to music direct new musicals and other works in development, and even perform in the pit from time to time. Their experience both in the theater and music industries has curated a security of confidence in music leadership. While Dante music directs, they also at times work as a copyist or music transcriber, but what they really thrive at is being a deviser for new musical theater.
Over the last year alone, Dante has worked as a music director for over 10 workshops and productions, including The Assembly's upcoming musical In Corpo, coming to Theater Row sometime post-COVID. While Dante was self-taught piano, their ability to learn and reteach music has grown exponentially over the past 13 years. While strengthening the skill of music directing, they were able to work and assist on projects for some of the American Theater industry's most exciting emerging artists, including Michael R. Jackson, Stephen Brackett, Cesar Alvarez, Musical Theater Factory Cohort Artist Storm Thomas, and many more who were showcased at companies such as The Public Theater, Playwrights Horizons, and others.
